Wonderful Works On YOU

Psalm 40:5: Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Psalm 111:4: He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

If you are saved God has done more wonderful works for you, on you and through you than you can possibly know about or remember. He wants us to remember all of them that we possibly can. He wants us to remember that they are wonderful. He wants us to remember that HE has done them. Remembering them can make us thankful and humble. It can give us faith that He will continue doing His wonderful works. It can make us more fruitful. The longer we serve Him, the longer the list of wonderful works.

All of His wonderful works on our behalf are miraculous works. Salvation is a miracle. If you are saved, your salvation was a miracle. The Christian life is a miracle. The Christian life is an endless succession of miracles. Making you a new creature was a miracle. Meeting Him in the clouds will be a miracle. Making you a perfect being when you meet Him will be a miracle. Even though the list of His wonderful works for each of us would more than fill an encyclopedia, here are some that are certainly among the most notable.

Before salvation we had wicked hearts and unforgiven sin. After salvation we have pure hearts, forgiveness, The Holy Spirit and newness of life.

Before:

Jeremiah 17:9: The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Now:

Acts 15:8-9: And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Before:

Galatians 5:19-21: Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Now:

Revelation 1:5: And from Jesus Christ, . . . that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

Galatians 5:16-18 . . . 22-24: This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. . . . 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ*s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Galatians 2:20: I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

1 John 3:14a: We know that we have passed from death unto life, . . .

Romans 6:4b: . . . we also should walk in newness of life.

Recently I heard a young woman pray to receive Jesus. A moment later she was wide-eyed as she joyfully said: This is overwhelming! What a wonderful way to describe it.
